Shattered Seasons, Steady Savior: When Life Breaks but Faith Stands

A woman kneels on cracked ground, lightning forming a glowing cross above. Fire burns in the distance. Text: "He Rises in Me."

“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.” — 1 Peter 4:12

You might be in an amazing season right now—one bursting with answered prayers, sweet laughter, and open doors. And in times like that, no one really wants to talk about pain. But life doesn’t stay in one lane. It’s wild, breathtaking, and often brutal. It’s both sacred and sorrowful, confusing and clear, full of days that make you weep with joy—and nights that make you cry from the ache.

There are seasons we welcome. And there are those we never saw coming—the ones that break what we built, shake what we trusted, and leave us reeling in the silence. It’s in those uninvited seasons that our faith is tested—not because God is cruel, but because trials reveal what comfort conceals. The furnace may be hot, but it is never without purpose.

“Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.” — 1 Peter 4:16

Suffering doesn’t disqualify you—it identifies you. If you’re suffering for Christ, hold your head up. Don’t bury your story in shame. There is glory in your scars. This pain has purpose, and God is writing something eternal with it. You may feel low, but heaven is watching. And the name of Jesus on your lips during hardship shakes hell more than any sermon ever preached in comfort.

You are not a victim—you’re a vessel. A living testimony. Even in the ashes, there’s an echo of praise. Even in the pit, there’s a flicker of light. So let God keep arising in you. Let Him be glorified not just in your victories, but in how you walk through the valley and still call Him good.

“Therefore let those who suffer according to God's will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good.” — 1 Peter 4:19

Even if you don’t understand it… trust Him.

Even when it hurts… trust Him.

Because He’s not just your deliverer—He’s your faithful Creator. The One who made you knows how to keep you. So while the fire rages, keep doing good. Keep loving well. Keep showing up with light in dark places—because He’s forming something in you that suffering can’t steal.

And may it always be said of you, even in the wilderness:

"There was a ‘Praise the Lord’ on her lips.”

And the enemy couldn’t shut it down.
