Dancing with Purpose: The Power of Worship in Battle
Updated: Nov 15, 2023

In the middle of the night, I was awakened by my dog, who has become my regular alarm. She gently nudged my arm with her wet nose, prompting me to open my eyes and question if this was a genuine emergency. It felt as though she was telling me, "Let's go, I need to go outside."
Reluctantly, I slipped out of the warm covers, all the while trying not to wake my sleeping husband. Once we reached the front door, she suddenly sprinted back to the bedroom door, sitting triumphantly, as if to say, "I win."
I shake my head in exasperation at my dog's antics and return to bed, silently pleading with God to let me go back to sleep. Not too long after, a loud crash in the kitchen startles both me and my husband awake. It resembled the sound of a glass bowl filled with marbles shattering on the floor. We both sit up, baffled, and murmur, "What the..." However, in unspoken agreement, we decide that whatever caused the commotion can wait until morning, and we both lay back down. But about 15 minutes later, my mind is racing, worrying if there's glass on the kitchen floor and whether we'll remember the crash when we attempt to make coffee. So, now it's 12:35 am, and I'm wide awake, grateful to my dog for setting off this chain of events.
After I meticulously clean the kitchen and conduct three thorough searches of every room in the house, I am left puzzled because I cannot find anything that would have caused the loud crash resembling glass and marbles. Everything appears to be in its place, and nothing seems to be broken.
Frustrated, I refuse to accept this, and I continue searching for something that remains elusive, repeating my fruitless efforts three more times. It's a reminder of how, in life, we often find ourselves obsessively searching for answers or explanations even when they might not exist.
Now I sit at my laptop at 1:05 am, pondering the events of the night, I can't help but wonder if God is trying to convey a message to me. As I open the laptop, still puzzled by my dog's unwarranted awakening and my cat's assistance in keeping me from returning to sleep, I find myself on the world wide web. In the midst of my online research about Gods acts of Mercy, I get sidetracked by something I read online.
I came across a post from Tiphanie Montgomery of "Covered By God." She appears to be a straightforward prophet who fearlessly speaks the truth. She's known for her unwavering accuracy and doesn't shy away from addressing issues, even if it means standing alone. She's not one to sugarcoat her revelations. Her insights can, at first seem challenging to digest, but she is on target. One of her primary focuses is exposing false teachings, wolves in sheep's clothing, and witches in entertainment, all while maintaining a strict commitment to measuring everything against the Word of God rather than personal opinion. So when she speaks, I listen.
In light of recent events, it appears that someone felt offended by her joyful dancing while Israel is facing a challenging situation. This individual conveyed their disapproval to Tiphanie, suggesting that her actions were inappropriate. As always, Tiphanie's response to this situation was GOLDEN, incredibly insightful and valuable. Here's a summary of what she expressed: (actual link provided below)

#1 Israel's always been in the mix; it didn't just pop up when the media finally caught on. Let's face it, the media can be a bit manipulated.
#2 Let's get this straight: God didn't prep her to be a news puppet. He trained her to be His vessel. All God's prophets are on a divine mission, not chasing emotional trends.
#3 John 7:24 spells it out: don't judge appearances, but make righteous judgments. This means things aren't always what they seem (even if they seem logical) until you've had a chat with the Almighty. So, if her dancing raises eyebrows, who's it bothering? Maybe the folks who aren't on friendly terms with God, the idol enthusiasts, or those whose Bibles are gathering dust?
#4 Hold on tight; dance is a nifty warfare tactic against evil.
It's about focusing on the Almighty during tough times, not getting lost in the enemy's game.
In the Chronicles of Jehoshaphat (nope, not a movie title), two enemies aimed to wipe him and his crew off the map. Jehoshaphat hit the panic button and called for a fast.
After the fast, they got the divine playbook and pulled a bold move: they put the worshippers at the front. Then, they cranked up the volume and went into high-praise mode. The result? The Bible says that "ambushments" (read: angels) paid a visit to the enemy camp, sowing confusion and making them turn on each other.
2 Chronicles 20:21-22 from the Bible says: " And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: 'Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.' Now when they began to sing and to praise, the Lord set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; and they were defeated."
These verses describe a powerful moment in the Bible when King Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah faced a great enemy army. Instead of leading with traditional military forces, they led with singers and praisers, acknowledging God's mercy and praising the Lord. As they began to sing and praise, the Lord intervened and caused confusion among their enemies, leading to their defeat. This story illustrates the incredible power of worship and praise in the face of adversity.

You heard it right; worship was the ultimate curveball, leading the enemy to fight amongst themselves! So, when you catch her, him, me, they or them breaking out in dance and celebration when the world's in turmoil, rest assured it's all grounded in scripture and faith. Here's to better understanding and a plea to banish those pesky assumptions and offenses – in her book, and mine, they're the devil incarnate and should be treated as such.
The psalm encourages using music to express joy in the context of victory and warfare through singing, dancing, and musical instruments to praise God.

In my opinion, she serves as a beacon for the Christian community, helping us stay vigilant during what may be considered the end times, regardless of where we are on that timeline. I highly recommend paying careful attention to her insights.
While the "powers that be" are trying to normalize war and disaster, let's normalize dancing and joy!
